This academic work by Khushi Jain, was a part of the studio ‘Re-imagining the Vernacular Past’. The studio was an attempt to study the vernacular furniture of Gujarat and Rajasthan and understand the shift in the way these furniture types are perceived within the urban context. By developing a new perception and imaginary contextualization, students designed an immersive experiential exhibition. Water is the centre point of all life. The exhibition ‘Water – A binding force’ focused on objects which are used to store water in domestic, semi-private and at community levels.
