This newsletter presents the findings from the first field visit in Gujarat. Fieldwork was conducted in the Kutch region of Gujarat. The team travelled 1300 kilometres and visited 14 places in the region. A total of 60 vernacular furniture items were mapped and around seven craftspeople were approached to understand the making and craft techniques. The places visited were: Ajrakhpur, Bhuj, Bhujodi, Devpar, Hodka, Kandagra, Ludiya, Mandvi, Mirzapur, Naliya, Nirona, Saira, Suthri and Zura.
