This academic work was a part of the studio ‘Re-Contained Past’. This studio was located at the intersection of Exhibition Design, Craft and Culture, and System Thinking. The intention of this studio was to develop a travelling exhibition of the vernacular furniture of Gujarat. This academic work explained about the life cycle of the furniture from making, usage, function, religious aspect till the degradation, and eventually to disposal of that furniture back to its raw material. It further explains the concept of sustainability, which is found to be missing in today’s world.
