Discover the repository of furniture

Through the fieldwork for this project, the team travelled around 62032 kilometres across the north-western region of India, and have met around 4196 people on the field who have let us into their homes and helped us identify the various furniture types. A total of 7886 furniture pieces from the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana were recorded during the field visits. This section is a collection of all these recorded vernacular furniture items, each accompanied by details, such as location, materials and craft techniques used, and a brief description about the piece.
