This tipai was kept at the entrance of a grocery shop. A few men from the neighbourhood would gather outside this shop and smoke hookah (smoking pipe) while seated on mudha (stool). A terracotta water pot was kept for the men and customers to drink water. In the absence of a support for the tumbler, a makeshift arrangement was made by keeping a flat stone at the bottom.
