In joint families, where more than one woman would be married into the family, there would also be more than one sandook in the house. Two sandook were placed next to each other in this house. While one of them was made with two compartments, the other was smaller in size and had only one compartment. The design features of a sandook would depend on the region where it was made rather than where it was recorded.
