Sandook made for gifting in weddings as a part of daaj are ornamented in various techniques. The ornamentation and size of the sandook is believed to be a symbol of status of the bride’s family. Traditionally, neighbours and people from the village would gather at the house of the groom to see the wedding trousseau brought by the new bride.
