Pidhi | Stool
Category: Aasan
Location: Amritsar, Amritsar, Punjab
Cultural region: Majha
Materials: Nylon (Rope), Wood
Nylon craft technique: Weaving
Wood craft technique: Joinery, Painting, Turning
Source: DICRC, India and SADACC, UK
The construction of this pidhi differs from most others recorded during fieldwork owing to the slender exposed frame (the nylon webbing does not go around it) and the circular section of the legs protruding at the top. It was accompanied by a similar pidha and was used along with the pidhi as a footstool.
