This peti was made of wood and clad with metal sheets that were painted to prevent rusting. It was kept in a storeroom of the house and covered with cotton fabric to prevent the settling of dust on the surface. Stacked on top was another chest which was also kept covered. Mattresses and quilts were stored in a number of newly made metal chests kept in the same room.
