A palna is a cradle used to sleep infants up to two years of age. It is made of shehtoot (mulberry) branches in the form of a shallow basket. It is hung using thick ropes, from a hook fixed in the ceiling. This palna was no longer in use and was hung from the lintel of the door only for demonstration purposes.
