A pakkha is a fan made to be either handheld or hung from the ceiling. This ceiling fan had a wooden frame between which a piece of fabric, decorated with frills, was stretched out. The rope tied to the frame was attached to a pulley system. When the rope was pulled back and forth, it moved the pakkha and enabled the circulation of air.
