Paindi is also found in public spaces like chaupal. This paindi was found in the semi-open verandah beside the open courtyard. It had a stone shelf at the top to keep tumblers for drinking water. One of the members of the community would take responsibility for filling the water pots so that the men who gathered at the chaupal would have access to drinking water.
