In this residence in Jhajjar, the mudha was specifically used while preparing buttermilk using the rai (churner). The mudha would be placed in front of the churner, tied to the hook (fixed on the column) using a rope. One would sit on the mudha while churning. Once the churning is complete, the rai would be put away and the stool would be moved back closer to the column.
