A palang is a bed used primarily for sleeping. It has four turned or carved legs held together by a frame. The webbing, either made of straps or ropes of different materials, is woven around the frame. The defining element of a palang is a headrest which is often elaborately carved and decorated with mirrors, prints of gods and goddesses, and so on.
