On the highways across Punjab, there are roadside restaurants locally called dhaba. These restaurants serve local cuisine and have manja laid out for seating, as in the case of this example. A wooden plank called phatti is laid across at the centre of the manja, on which the thali (plate) and cutlery are placed.
