Most jaali used in gurdwara were bigger in size than the ones used in residences. This tall jaali was partitioned into two sections with multiple shelves on the inside. It was being used to keep large sized vessels, dishes of various sizes and cutlery used in the community kitchen. A number of cooking items such as large cans of oil and ghee were also stored in it.
