A papier mache basket is known as boia in the Khadar and Nardak regions of Haryana. The inner surface of this boia was painted with floral patterns. It was used during weddings to keep roti or sweets to serve the guests. During festivals and religious rituals, it was used to keep patashe (a type of sweet made only from sugar).
