A metal latch is fitted to the doors of an almari to be able to lock it when valuables are stored inside. This almari had a latch but was not locked. It was built adjacent to a wall niche which was used as a worship place in the residence. The almari was used to store things used for worship like oil to light lamps, along with other items like plastic bags and unused clothes.
