The sandook recorded in the Majha region were smaller in size, less ornate, and made without a top panel as compared to the sandook in Doaba and Malwa regions. These were raised up from the floor on shorter legs that were either turned or carved. This type of shallow, criss-cross carvings were common to most sandook in Gurdaspur.
